Mitski completed her graduation from Purchase College’s Conservatory of Music with studio compositions before which she was admitted for film studies in Hunter College. She kick-started her career in college when she released her own two albums in 2012 and 2013 as a student assignment. After college, she was a vocalist for the band “Voice Coils” while she worked on her third music album which she dropped in 2014 through Double Double Whammy. This time she shifted from piano and orchestra classical to raw guitar background.
